I produced a document in Word 2007 and took it on a memory stick to another computer which is using Word 2010. On the second computer, there were changes to the header and footer margins. How can I correct this please?

Since Word depends on the printer driver when it lays out documents, some changes between different systems is to be expected. See http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Formatting/TextReflow.htm.

Note that in cases when appearance is important, you could create a PDF and distribute that file instead.
