Do you have a newer version of Word on the new laptop?
Emailing the doc to yourself still opens it with the same Word We need to establish if the problem is with the doc or Word and move out from there |

Hi,
I do have a newer version on my new computer. I opened the email here, tried a document recover that is in MSOffice 2007 and the document appeared. I really needed the "info" there and can't thank you enough. adkron |

I know the darn feeling when Office product starts acting flaky
May I suggest with the new Word, you set it up to automatically make back ups--It can be a pain, but it is nice to have those rare events that pop up with a crucial document |
