rcsolomon is on a distinguished road
Thumbs down yet another small inefficiency

In WordPerfect, 4 clicks to insert a document (or photo or whatever). 8 clicks to insert a text document with Word (I figured out how to do it, as you suggest, with copying and pasting). A triumph of marketing over user-friendliness.

Unfortunately, some commands are buried more deeply in the hierarchy now that we are using the ribbon interface (compared to the old menu interface), yes. I can't comment on WordPerfect, because I've never used it.

Note, however, that copy and paste can be done quickly with keyboard shortcuts.

Again, the best approach depends on what you want to achieve. It is possible to maintain separate documents and bring them together using INCLUDETEXT fields. For that purpose you can use the Insert File dialog box.
