I edit and proofread documents for the Healthcare System for the State of Indiana. I use Track Changes constantly, and conduct meetings with 8-10 people reviewing the changes and making suggestions. These suggestions are typically stored in Track Changes until approved.
However, Word 2013 truncates each Comment into a single line and only 3 or 4 words at that. To see more, we must click a downward pointing arrow on each and every comment. This makes Track Changes impractical to use. We must look for a better tool to help us. Windows 8.1 and MS Office 2013 have been nothing less than deal breakers for us. Until we decide upon a new software direction, our entire team is migrating back to Windows 7 and to Office 2003. (A team member suggested that it was the best version of Word and everyone agreed with her.) My problem is that I've been a staunch Microsoft fan since its inception. It really grinds my gears that Microsoft has decided to ignore the desire of its user base. Ok, I've put in my 2 cents. You can delete this post now. |
