I have solved the line spacing issue. Evidently, under the Line & Paragraph Spacing tab, the Spacing Before and After have to be set at 0, as opposed to Auto. Setting Line Spacing to "single" does not do the trick without changing the Before and After Spacing to zeros. Why this changed is beyond me!

So simple, even a child can do it. (Evidently, I have not made it to childhood yet.) Double-clicking on the Home tab obviously (now) did the trick. But, it is the type of correction that one would not have fathomed without the existence of a forum such as this. Thank you very much. I must somehow have double-clicked on the FILE tab in error, which route I use when bringing up recently-used files. Again, my thanks for taking the time to respond to my thread. Problem solved!
