I know of no way to do this, but may be simply revealing my ignorance.

Something I would try would be selecting everything and then pasting in a different document with text only as the paste option. I have no idea whether this would work.

You might want to try your luck with this search. This is in MS Word 2007.
1. Press “Ctrl+F”.
2. Enter “^?” (without the quote marks) in the Find What box.
3. Use the drop-down to search the “Current document”.
All the characters except the graphics will get selected.
HTH.

Robert
I examined it. It's function is very strange which I could not understand. It does not work as you said. It can Highlight the whole text but can not select them. Sometimes it selects characters of just the last page and sometimes it selects just one character.
Meanwhile after right-clicking on the characters which has been selected and select 'Update Fields' (to update Cross-references page numbers) it JUST update some of Cross-references and nothing done with other Cross-references.
Would you explain more about this function and give me your idea about selecting JUST characters to update Cross-references.
Mohsen

If you want Word to select text and not simply highlight it, you need to use the "Find in" drop-down, not the "Reading Highlight" drop-down.
