hello and thank you in advance for any help.
I am trying to create a report in word where I will have various sections and there will be a title/cover page at the beginning of each section. The title page has some design elements (concentric circles) with Text inside. Im trying to figure out the best/easiest/fastest way to insert those title pages and/or the circles so that they are placed in the exact same spot on each title page. One way I tried was to make them in the header, but I was only able to make them show up on every odd or even page, which doesn't work if a section is more than one page. I also tried creating a cover page that could be inserted throughout the document but the circles are not correctly placed on the various pages. I have uploaded an example of what I am going for. Thank you again for any insight on how to achieve what I am looking for. Last edited by Charles Kenyon; 02-18-2015 at 08:51 PM. Reason: Mark as solved |

Sorry. I haven't time right now to look.
You can put your design elements into an AutoText Building Block. Automated Boilerplate Using Microsoft Word Look into having a Different First Page header setting for your sections. Last edited by Charles Kenyon; 02-18-2015 at 11:29 AM. |

If you put the circles into the First Page Header and turn this setting on for all subsequent sections and link to previous then they all stay in the right spot

I thinky ou might be onto something, but is there a way to not have it on the first page, as I have more of a cover page on the first page as opposed to a section title page

In the section immediately following your cover page set it to have a different-first-page header and to not be linked to the previous section. Sections that follow this will be linked to this section. This is not impossible, but it is complicated. You will be able to do it easily if you take the time to learn about sections and headers and footers. These three articles will give you a working knowledge.
You will want a section break before each spot where you want to display your graphics to start a section so the first-page header can display in your (logical) section title page. If you need a section break for other reasons (orientation, margins, columns) you can have that section not have a different-first-page header. Last edited by Charles Kenyon; 02-18-2015 at 11:28 AM.
