IIRC, Graham's converter is for converting .doc-format files to docx/m-format, not for removing compatibility mode from docx/m-format files. What is your issue with compatibility mode, anyway? What that means is that the documents are backwards-compatible with previous Word versions. Do you really need to change that for 40000 docx files (and mess up their system date/time stamps in the process)?
