While typing several pages of text, I must have inadvertently hit some keys, because paragraph formatting signs popped up on the screen. I remember in an earlier version of Word (I'm presently using Office 2010) that one could hit something like a Control key and then a function key (e.g., F10) to remove the formatting. Nothing that I have tried has worked, however.
Could someone clue me in on the appropriate keys to hit to remove the formatting from the screen? Thanks in advance. Gordon Houston, TX Last edited by Charles Kenyon; 12-30-2014 at 07:22 PM. Reason: Mark as solved |

On the Home tab in the Paragraph group, you can click on the paragraph symbol (pillcrow). Otherwise this is Ctrl+* (Ctrl+Shift+8).
These keys must be pressed simultaneously, not sequentially. |

So simple even a child can do it. Evidently, I have not yet reached childhood.
Thanks for your prompt response! Gordon |

Simple to do? Yes. Simple to remember, not so. You are welcome.
