I'm in the process of downloading a few books in the University of North Carolina's "docsouth" (Documenting the American South) collections. They all have inserted page numbers, apparently inserted by the people who prepared the works for listing on that collection. I need to find or make a way to delete the page numbers in these works so I can prepare a copy in larger print for someone with vision problems. Each page number is inserted with 2 HPG commans, then the word "Page" followed by a number. Then the text resumes on the next line.
Dos anyone know of a macro or other way I can remove these items? Thanks Paul Donohue |

Activate the header/footer view, for example by double-clicking the header, and then select and delete the page number.
I'm assuming that the file format is one that you can open in Word.

Can you attach a document to a post with some representative content (a couple of pages will do - delete anything sensitive)? You do this via the paperclip symbol on the 'Go Advanced' tab at the bottom of this screen.
