Exclamation Word 2003 - Constantly Not Responding

Hi Guys,



A user is suffering from some issues on MS Word 2003. She is the only person with this issue as far as I am aware.

When she opens word, it takes a while to load, the toolbars and menus are all blank/white but eventually pop up after a little while.

Every time she switches from on application and then goes back to MS Word, the blue loading circle appears, if she is working on a larger document, the whole MS Word application would say not responding.

I've tried many fixes out there including restarting printer spooler, removing printers, changing default printer, uninstalling office and reinstalling etc. She has a very new laptop model. She is on a 64 bit machine.

Can someone please offer some advice?

This could be a poorly designed macro interfering, or a damaged Office installation. To rule out the first issue, start Word in Safe mode (as a troubleshooting step).

Here's how to start in Safe mode: Exit Word if it is currently running. Hold the Ctrl key as you start Word the way you normally would; when asked about Safe mode, click yes.

If Safe mode works, troubleshoot for add-ins as discussed at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/921541/en-us.

If it doesn't work, try repairing Office via Help | Detect and Repair. You can also use the installation CD for Office 2003 and repair from the disc, which is usually more effective.

Hello, thanks for the reply.

Starting word in safe mode is completely fine. No slow issues at all.

There are no add-ins however. I've tried detect & repair and had no luck either.
