Hi Guys,
I am going nuts here trying to solve this small issue. I have 4 pages word document. My First Page Footer shows 1 but if I set footer of second page to 2, the third and fourth page footer is also set to 2. I tried using Page Number format to start at 2 from page second footer but no luck. Tried inserting page breaks but no luck. Could you please help. |

Click in the footer section where the page numbering appears. When you do that, the Header & Footer Tools ribbon will appear. In the middle of that ribbon (in the "Navigation" section) click on "Link to Previous" then exit to normal view. You will need to do this when any section breaks are inserted to insure continuous page numbering throughout the file.
Hope this helps... |

You have a typed number rather than a page number field in your continuation footer.
Go to that number in the footer. Select it. Delete it. Type the word "Page" without the quotation marks. Select that word. Press Ctrl+F9 and then F9. You have now inserted a page field. You can also use the Insert > Page Number > Current location to do this, but I prefer doing it the way I described. It is cleaner and you have a better understanding of what you are doing.
