Question Using word art in a table with a filled cell

I'm working on a form but I have some issues with using word art in a table with filled cells. I want to apply the word art to a cell and have it behind the text. But I also want the cell filled. It seems that I can't do that because the fill feature is part of the text.

When I send the word art behind the text it disappears (because the cell is filled). I have to use the word art behind text only in cells with no fill, it seems.

Am I missing something here? I'd appreciate your ideas - maybe this is just a limitation of the software. I've attached the isolated table that I'm working with. Thanks!

I know I'm new on the forum, but I go by a policy of forward paying karma - I'll try and solve two other peoples' problems before mine is solved.

I'm running office 2013 in windows 8.1
