I created a one-page document on 8.5 x 11 paper and added an art page border to it. I want to move it in from the edge of the paper more but am not having any luck.
I tried adjusting the margins in the Borders and Shading dialog>Page Border tab>Options. It would only let me set the margins to 31pt, so I set all four to 31pt but the border hardly moved. Then I tried adjusting the Page Layout margins to 2in all the way around but again nothing. My text is only one short paragraph and is centered vertically and horizontally. There's plenty of room to move the border if I could just get it to move. Anyone know how to do this in Word 2007? Thanks. ![]() |

The difference between the default 24pt and 31pt is less than 1/10in (2.5mm), so you shouldn't expect to see much change. Changing the 'Measure from' setting to 'Text' will allow you to have a much tighter border.

Hey there macro, thanks a lot.
I ended up starting from scratch and made the page margins 3in from the get-go. Then I set the margins for the border art using "measure from text." I was able to get it in a lot closer to the text. ![]() |
