A picture I have inserted in a table cell shows only the bottom half. As I recall, when this happened once a number of years ago (8 years, maybe?), the solution was to set text wrap to inline. But whenever I try this, that choice is grayed out. If I choose different positioning in the cell (e.g. centered), the picture moves to the center but still only half of it is visible.



My copy of Word is 2007.

Check that the cell height in Word has not been set lower than the height of the picture or increase the height and see if it displays the rest of the picture.

If you want to upload a sample of it then I can take a look and advise.

I've attached a copy of the page. As you can see, the cell is much bigger than the picture, which is, in fact, simply a copy of the little 'speaker' icon in the table just above it.

Ok I figured it out..

It has to do with the line spacing which has been applied somehow in this document. If you open the file, select the table which contains the text and then the icon in the right hand side of the table, then go to the Home tab and click the Line and Paragraph Spacing button which is found in the Paragraph group. If you choose Line Spacing Options you will see that the Line Spacing is set to Exactly 14pt. Change the drop down to Single spacing and click OK. The speaker icon will now be displayed in full. Now you can use the Table Tools > Layout tab and use the Alignment buttons to adjust the alignment of the picture within the cell.
