I tried it in 2013 and had no trouble; I think it should work in 2010. Is it possible that you are selecting plain text rather than formatted text, or that a similar shortcut for one of the other versions is intervening? Make sure formatted text is chosen and choose a shortcut that shares none of the characters in your others.
