Dear gods of Word,
I am adding page numbers to my book. This means I'm working with headers and footers, which are notoriously frustrating. My book is divided into 4 Parts, so I do not want page #'s on the "Part 1/2/3/4" pages. I added section breaks like I was told. Then I added page numbers. For 2 Parts, so far, so good. Suddenly, at the end of Part 2, page 155 is considered Odd (correct) and page 156 is considered Odd (wtf?). I know this happened because page 156 is a blank page, so I deleted the page number + header from it and added a Section Break, thinking I could just start Part 3 at page 157 (so, page 156 exists but isn't labeled). Big mistake. I cannot change the header/footer of page 156 to Even, nor can I delete the Section Break, which I think may have caused the problem. Please help me! This book is DUE FOR PUBLICATION in a few days! ![]() |

If the layout requires it, you need to accept the fact that each Section starts on an odd page. It's also not clear why the blank page is an issue. With this layout, Word will insert one at print time, if required. For output to PDF, though, you might need to add one manually, or via field coding.
