Default Relocating Word temp save direcctory globally

I have a situation where Word is being launched from a Citrix application. The space on the C: drive of the Citrix server is very limited so users, via GPO, have their profiles redirected to a larger SAN drive. The application includes a macro that creates a very large document which is failing with a disk full error. I would like to globally change the location of the temp directory. I believe Word will go to the correct profile if I just eliminate the 'C:' in the path. Assuming that will work my question is how do I change the default path for the temp directory? Can that be done as a command line parameter (Word is being launched via a bat file because it already has several command line options) or is that a registry setting? TIA.
