This is NOT very elegant, but what I would do on the quick is simply go to Paragraph Group > Numbering > <Define the type of numbering I wanted, e.g., Step 1, Step 2...>
Then in the cell(s) I wanted numbered, I would click the Numbering button in the Paragraph Group to have the next Step Number
