Default Using MSWord 2003 docs in MSWord 2010

I have just downloaded Word 2010 to my computer and have a lot of Word 2003 docs which I can open with 2010 but any hyperlinks within these docs are not clickable. Can you help please.

Note that you may have to hold the Ctrl key for hyperlinks to be clickable in Word.

Alternatively, if you are seeing field codes, such as { HYPERLINK "https://www.msofficeforums.com/word" }, press Alt+F9 to hide them.

I'm glad you got it sorted.

Out of curiosity, what turned out to be the problem?

The problem was that I didn't know I had to hold the Ctrl key for hyperlinks word 2010 as I didn't have to do that in Word 2003

You don't have to do that in Word 2010 either; go to File|Options|Advanced>Editing Options and uncheck the 'Use CTRL+click to follow hyperlink' box.

Many thanks. Always a bonus to reduce the number of clicks.

Note that the option Paul mentions was available in Word 2003 as well (at Tools | Options | Edit: "Use CTRL + Click to follow hyperlink").
