Question Footer changes, even though it's linked

I have a 70 page document. Page 1 has no header/footer. My footer is just a 2x2 table.

Pages 2 thru 70 have the same header and footer (with the exception of the page number in the footer). For some reason, on page 63-70, the footer is shifted to the right by about .5". On page 63, If I drag the column to the left to center it, it obviously centers the footer on 63-70, but it moves the footer on pages 2 thru 62 off center, to the left. Same behavior happens with the header.

Tx.

I suspect you changed the left margin at page 63. This created a section break.
You mention that the footer is linked. What linked means is a change made in one section is also applied to the linked section(s).

Unlink the headers and footers at your section break before you make the change.

You're right, on page 62 it says "Footer - Section 2-" and on page 63 it says "Footer - Section 3-".

How can I get this to all be section 2?

Only by deleting the Section 3 Section break. Sometimes Section breaks are easier to find in Draft view.

In fiddling wih this, remember, UnDo (Ctrl+Z) is your friend.

When you delete the section break, everything will have the formatting you applied in the last section. Again, I suspect you changed your margin in the last section. Deleting the section break will make that margin setting apply to section 2.

Changing the link to previous setting in the header/footer will let you make changes in them in one section without changing the rest.

I didn't need the break there, so I deleted it. My footers seem to be all good now, thanks.
