Default Track Change Options Not Staying

Hi everyone,

How are you all doing?

So this has been happening over & over again. Every time I get a Word doc from someone, my Track Change settings are removed.

I like deletions to show up in the right margin, so the setting down at the bottom (see SS) should always say "Always", but it doesn't, it always says what you see now.

I change it for each file & then when I get the file again from someone, it's changed again.

I think even when I've opened my OWN files it's done that & it's really starting to aggravate me.

I hope someone can help.

Thank you

Michelle

Track-Changes settings are specific to the document, not to your user account or PC. So, if someone sends you a document with Track-Changes turned off, Word won't automatically turn them on for you.

Well it's not that it's turned off, it's just that their setting is different.

What about when it's my own document?

If you send a document to someone else and they edit it, it's no longer 'your' document.
