Default How do you modify the font of a clickable table of contents

Just as the title says, want to create headers and a table of contents using the font and font size of my choice and have it still be clickable. I know how to enter headers and create a clickable table of contents and it works. I know it is easy to change the style of the table of contents or headers to whatever I choose, but then it is not clickable after I do it. I have devoted hours to this simple task, and all instructions on the internet are wrong or contain menu options that do not exist on MS Word 2010, which is what I am using. I do not care about creating a template which will alter the course of destiny for every document hereafter. I just want to make a table of contents, change the font, and have it work.
