Most grateful for your thoughts. I managed to discover most of what you said, apart form the clever stuff, obviously. I have customised each macros (30 of them) to specific key strikes e.g. "Sunbury" becomes "alt-S,U". Took a bit of imagination, but fine now. I guess that was what you were talking about. OK, so that is how you are using macros. That is a Wordperfect usage; with Word, you would be better served with AutoText or AutoCorrect instead of macros to produce text. See:
BTW, your usage of sequential keyboard shortcuts is very sophisticated. Most users never pick up that this is possible.
