Default How is auto formatting turned off

Recently while editing an existing Word document I found that every time I pressed the ENTER key to 'open' a new line within the existing document Word displayed -

a vertical bar on the left side of the new line and
a red rectangle with the following words on the right side -
Formatted: Indent: First line: 1.27cm see below

How do I turn off this being displayed?

Thanks

John

Thanks Charles,
I hadn't even noticed that the 'icon' was on probably as I didn't know it existed and usually don't look at that part of the screen. Must have accidentally clicked on it.
