Default Paste into Word "Inline with Text" Issues

Hello Everyone!

I recently tried to create my own Word Template for my office and have been running into a couple of issues. The way I have the template installed onto everyone's computer is replacing the default Normal.dotm files within Windows.

Back to the issue at hand, whenever an image would be pasted into Word (under the formatting of "Inline with Text") of the image being cropped in a bizarre way.
I tried to go into Options > Advanced > and mess with some of those settings to see if it was the "Show drawings and text boxes on screen" but I got nothing to work. I would also assume it would be how my Normal Paragraph is formatted.

Please see attached an example of what I am talking about.

Any thoughts?

Basic problem, before even addressing your question, is that you should not be replacing the normal.dotm file with anything that you create.
  1. The normal template must not be shared.
  2. If you take any other document than a normal template created by Word and attempt to use it as a normal template you will lose at least some functionality of Word.
  3. The normal template should not include any text or images (including headers/footers/page numbers).
You can find references to support this at Templates in Microsoft Word. You can share customizations and resources in other ways.

There are even ways to make new documents base themselves on a different template than the normal template by default if that is what you want to do. Several examples are here: Downloads - Easy New Document Template Package Look at the one named in the link and the Letterhead AddIn(s) a bit further down.

I'm sorry. Your screenshot does not tell me what the problem is.
This has nothing to do with using the template as a pseudo normal template.
There is no such thing as a normal paragraph but there is a normal paragraph style. This also has nothing to do with how pasted images are presented.

A suggestion. Rename your normal template to mynormal.dotm. Then reopen Word. Try pasting the image into the blank file (which will be based on the default normal template).

What happens?

Inline with text only does so much because an image takes up however much room it takes.

You might try attaching the image you are trying to paste to your reply as well as the screenshot of the paste result. Even better, attach an actual document with the image inserted.

The way to attach files is to click on the Go Advanced button in the forum and then click on the paperclip button.
