I have a document created in Word 2007. It has several sections with page numbering formatted as Chapter-Page number. The document map shows "Section 1", "Section 2"... etc. Page numbers show 1-1, 1-2...2-1, 2-2... etc. This is just what I want.
My computer was upgraded to Office 2013. When I open the document in Word 2013 the document map shows "Section 1", "Section 1", "Section 2"...etc. (Two sections 1). The page numbering is now 1-1, 1-2...1-1, 1-2...2-1, 2-1...etc. (Chapter 1 is numbered correctly but each subsequent chapter number is one less than it should be. The Table of Contents shows "Chapter 1...1-1", "Chapter 2...2-1" as it should. But if I have all chapter headings on the same page the TOC still shows the chapters beginning 1-1, 2-1, 3-1 etc even though they are all on the same page. Nothing I do will make the chapter part of the page number match the actual chapter number (except for chapter 1). |
