Hi everybody,
I'm new on this forum. I'm working on a word 2010 document. in a table, I have a field in the first cell to display a document property. In the second cell, I would like to display just a part of the first cell. for example: first cell: blabla second cell: bla I'm trying to use a formula like excel (=replace) but it's not working. I'm French and my English is not perfect so I hope it's understandable. Thank you in advance to everybody for your feedback. |

In the first cell, bookmark whatever you want to display in the second cell. Then insert a cross-reference to bookmark content in the second cell.
If you are saying that you want to reference part of the document property, you may be out of luck.

Thank you Stefan. it's working perfectly with a cross-reference.

Thanks for the follow-up. Note that, if you inserted the document property via a field, updating it may cause the bookmark to be lost.

I do not believe there is a field solution to what you want. If you can use macros those could parse the document property and store it as either another (custom) document property or a document variable that could then be stored in your second cell. (I do not know how to do this; I am just aware that it can be done.)
If this is in a form, you could possibly use an on-exit macro. |
