Thank you Charles.
Let me try to ask this in a more simple way. Since I still have the original Appendix file (which opens by itself and looks good): What do I need to add to the end of the book file so that, when I insert>file, absolutely nothing will cross over to the inserted document? Of course I'll need a page break. But what else?
