Default I have 2 questions in Microsoft Word

Hey ,

I have 2 questions in Microsoft Word:

1.How do I automatically present thoughts with comma?
Ex. 1000 will automatically presented as 1,000

2. how do I automatically present negative numbers in brackets.
Ex. -1,000 would be presented as (1,000).

I know there is a way throw formula but it's for one number and it's long. and since i need to delete the $ sign from the formula pattern.
I'm looking for an automatic way to do this, if not maybe a keybord suortcut to change numbers like -2000 to (2,000).

Pls advice

Thanks in advance.

There is no simple way to do this when typing in a document. Word isn't smart enough to figure out when you would want it and when not.

If you are typing a number in a content control or field, you can format the number automatically by setting the formatting for that field or content control.

BTW, this is very easy to do in Excel. Do you need to be using Word?
