I have a large document (146 pages) with chapter headings that look like this:
Chapter 1: Introduction Chapter 2: Plan of the Book etc. Somehow (my aging memory has forgotten how), I set it up so that when I insert a cross-reference to a chapter number, it inserts, e.g., "Chapter 1:", or "Chapter 2:". That is, it keeps the word "Chapter" and the number of the chapter as I wish, but it also brings in the colon, which I do not want. I remember that I was able to set the thing up somehow in two parts so that the word "Chapter would be included, but I forgot what I did. I'd be quite satisfied if such references returned only the number and I'd just type the word "Chapter" myself if that's easier. Thanks ![]() |
