I need to make a lean, clean template to share with another org. I want to use as many built-in styles and MS standard names as possible, but I don't see how to access these. When I tried renaming "List Bullet Level 2" to "List Bullet 2", the message said this name is already in use as a built-in style, but I do not see how to get the built-in style if it is not already in the template.
Ideally I'd like to start with a Microsoft template that has all the built-in styles and nothing else. Does such a thing exist? (When I use Ctrl-N to make a new document, the collection of styles it has seems to be a small but random selection of styles from some of my templates.) |

Ignore, for now, the Quick Styles Gallery. Click on the Styles pane launcher in the bottom right corner of the Styles group.
Then click on options at the bottom right of the pane. Choose to display all styles and in alphabetical order. If you want to be sure that a style is in your template, put some text in the template and format it using that style.
