Default Links display as {HYPERLINKS "http://www.somelink.com"} in document

Hi,

Recently i noticed when viewing a document all links now display as {HYPERLINKS "http://www.somelink.com"} and i cant figure out how to get them to display normally. Even if i edit the hyperlink and modify text to display, which starts with two exclaimation marks and finishes with another funny character, no change is made. Some help would be greatly appreciated.
