Default Word 2000--Problem with format retention when pasting

I have a long document that I broke into sections for editing. When I reassemble the edited sections the margin, font, justification etc goes screwy.

What in the world is wrong and how do I stop it?

Thanks.

Your problems suggest you've used hard-formatting to override the underlying Style definitions of the various parts of your document and, when pasting them back together, Word is applying the destination document's Style definitions. It's been a few years since I've used Word 2000 (now almost 15 years old), which your profile says you're using, but I believe you can use Paste Special to preserve the source formatting.

Thanks. I'll try to look up using "Styles", "Format", "Template" etc. as keywords.
