I accidentally created a solid page-width line in a .docx, which is *not* a normal "text element" in the sense that it cannot be deleted by selecting it, CTRL-X, etc. Even highlighting the entire passage above and below the line, and deleting that passage, only causes the solid line to re-appear lower on the page. I've tried everything to get at this line and kill it, but it is absolutely persistent. Anyone have any idea what this could be, and how to remove it from a .docx?

This is a feature of "AutoFormat as you Type." What you are seeing is likely a paragraph border. See Weird Lines and Borders.

I know it's years old but just signed up to say thanks for this info as i had a document that had these lines and could not sort it so many thanks
