Default Go to email from Word

Whenever I prepare a document in Word and want to send it via email I click on the email icon at the top, but always comes back with:

"There is no email program associated to perform the requested action. Please install an email program, or if one is already installed, create an association in the default program control panel"

I have a gmail account set up. I can go to control panel and bring up the default programs but how do I make the association to Word?

Have you tried to print from the File Menu? (File / Print / Select the Printer from the "Printer" drop down menu / Print [From the printer icon]?

I'm not trying to print a document, I am trying to send it as an attachment via my email program.

I don't have a Gmail account but, have you tried to attach your Word file within the opened email you are trying to send?

In your last post you state you are trying to send it as an attachment via your email program - which BTW is NOT really an email program. GMial is a web based service that handles email. It is not a stand alone email program. Which is what your error is stating: "There is no email program associated to perform the requested action".

And this is true, there is NO email program. As far as Word is concerned, a web page like Wikipedia is exactly the same as a web page like GMail.

A web based email service can not be AFAIK be associated with the Word send email icon. As the error states, there is NO email program installed.
