Default Help Needed With Document Fields

I need assistance with resolving a problem with my Document fields showing a special character at the end of each field.

I have attempted to delete the special character, but am unable.

I have several documents that are behaving the same way.

Thank you for being so smart!

Hi, press Shift Ctrl 8 on keyboard to hide formatting marks - is that what you mean "special characters".

Default Still Need Help

No, that didn't resolve.

No, the special character is an upsidedown T bar. See attached JPG.

Your 'odd' characters are a visible representation of ASCII 21, which represents a protected character that closes a field. The reason these field characters are displayed is that the cells in which they appear have the 'fit text' attribute checked.

I also noted that when opened in Word 2003, the lines do not appear.
I did not check whether they print in Word 2010, but they do appear in print preview as well as in print view.

Thanks Paul, but I'm not sure if they are appearing because of 'fit text' attribute.

Linked is the dialog with the field properties (they're all the same).

Where are you getting this 'fit text' from?

Thanks!

This is not a property of the formfields, but of the cells.
