To refer to an existing endnote, use Insert|Cross-reference>Reference Type:Endnote>Insert Reference to:Endnote Number (formatted).

I wish that Word's bibliography and endnote functions will interact someday to enable automatized cross-referencing. With the current cross-referencing, I have to remember whether certain reference has been cited (and thus resides in the endnote) or not. If there are tons of references and you miss, you'll create multiple endnotes for the same reference. It'd be so productive if Word could somehow check if a new reference to be inserted to the endnote has already been inserted and, if so, convert what was going to be a new endnote to a cross-reference instead. |
