Heck I did not even know there were ActiveX controls in 2013, but I guess they are there for existing older documents. DawnK2018, the reason why ActiveX are not used is that they are horribly unsecure. They blindly allow potentially malicious access. Unless you have a serious reason to use them (and I agree with Charles that I personally know of none), there are other, better, options.
