MTWord is on a distinguished road
Default Formatting font

My MSWord 2010 at work does not keep font and line formatting even when I set to default. Even going from one document to a new one, using shortcuts, it reverts back to 1.5 line spacing and Calibri 11 (we use Arial 11). This is very annoying as I sometimes have three or four different documents to work on simultaneously. Any help much appreciated ... never had this issue when we were still using Word 2003. Oh, and when the techs need to up-date our specific platform or defrag, I lose all the formatting and my shortcuts.

Thanks!

Joan

Default

Hi Joan,

To change the defaults, you need to change them in the underlying document template. You do this by checking the 'new documents based on this template' option when you modify the paragraph Style. Alternatively, open the template and edit the paragraph Style there. Your changed defaults will not apply to any existing documents.

As for:

That suggests your techs are simply replacing whatever you have with the out-of-the-box defaults. So, no matter what you do, your techs are going to blithely wipe it out...
