Thanks Paul that works.
What I meant to include Word control codes in the notepad document just like a tab character which is picked up Word. |

Tab characters, though, are just as much characters as any letter you may type. That's a completely different issue from character formatting, which Notepad doesn't support. The example I gave is what you need to embed the kind of formatting control you referred to.

But I don't care how it looks in Notepad.
When I copy & paste to Word it has to look the desired way. Your html solution is fine. I will go with it if there is no alternative. I just wonder if Word format control codes can be imbedded in a notepad document which is saved as a flat file. Thanks. |
