I see nothing unexpected in the file. When I select a whole paragraph, and then copy and paste it, I would expect the insertion point to end up in the following paragraph; this is because each paragraph in Word is terminated by a paragraph mark (¶) and because Word, by default, includes the paragraph mark when you select a paragraph.
To change the behavior, clear the "Use smart paragraph selection" option at File tab | Options | Advanced.

Stefan I am so embarrassed. Right after I zipped off a reply to you I was looking at a block of text and highlighting to copy and paste and had an epiphany from where you had mentioned the same exact word default that included the paragraph mark at the end of a sentence; and so I selected all the text but the mark at the end and voila the issued was resolved. Thanks loads for your patience. I am humbly your servant.

I'm glad you got it sorted! :-)
Do you find that turning off "Smart paragraph selection" makes it easier to exclude the paragraph mark? Note that you can show/hide paragraph marks, as well as other nonprinting marks, by clicking the ¶ button on the Home tab.

Stefan, indeed you are correct. Turn off smart paragraph selection makes it all much easier. Thanks again for your good sound advice.
