Default find and navigation dialogue in Word 2010 and higher

In later versions of Word (at least 2010, maybe also 2007, I don't know) the Find command (CTRL+F) moves the focus to a navigation panel.

To get the old fashioned find dialogue (now called "advanced find"), I have to click on a little arrow and select that advanced find.
But in most cases, that's the find I want to use. And I don't want to use the mouse. Also, I don't want the navigation pane to pop up, it takes up space that I need.

So is there a way for me to remap CTRL+F or assign another key command to get the advanced find dialogue in one go? (Other than typing CTRL+G or CTRL+H and then typing ALT+Z to get to the find tab.)

And if I'm in the navigation pane anyway, is there a key command that can close it (if the focus is in the text)?

MTIA.

Sorry about that last superfluous question: it appears that Escape makes the navigation pane disappear. (I'm not sure it did in earlier versions, but it does in Office 2013.)

Sorry again: it appears that sometimes Escape makes the navigation pane disappear, and sometimes it doesn't. Which is exactly what bugs me and why I would prefer to get the advanced search box with one click, because that certainly *will* disappear if I click Escape.

I've also had the same problem but resolved it by reassigning the keyboard shortcut. There are a few ways to get to that point. One is File > Options > Customize Ribbon, then press the Customize button for keyboard shortcuts. Choose the Home Tab from the categories and EditFind in the commands list. Press Ctrl+F and click on the Assign button, making sure you are saving changes in the Normal template, if that's what you want. You can now close that window and the one below (Word Options).
I saw the option, but thought the EditFind was the command to bring up the Nav Pane so it wouldn't help. I thought there would be some other option EditFindAdvanced I had to assign a shortcut to: there isn't!
Thanks for the forum, apologies for this superfluous thread.
