Does anyone know of a way to assign the function of the "Increase Indent" toolbar button to a keyboard key?
I've searched the 'help', but haven't found anything. Thanks,,,,, chuckh |

IncreaseIndent is one of the commands that can be assigned a keyboard shortcut. Use Customize.

Note that Increase Indent behaves differently depending on the context. In a non-numbered paragraph it increases the left indent to the location of the next default tab stop. In a multilevel list (numbered or bulleted), it changes the list level (which may or may not actually change the indentation).
Which function do you need a keyboard shortcut for?

Stefan,
Thanks for the reply,,, I am needing it for non-numbered paragraphs where it increases the left indent to the location of the next default tab stop. Our Word documents get converted through a 3rd party product that strips out tabs and multiple spaces, but it retains the indent (because it is a change in the margin setting), so increase indent and decrease indent need to be used rather than the tab and multiple spaces when formatting the layout of a document. If these can be assigned to the keyboard, my users don't have to move from keyboard to mouse each time they need either of those options. thanks,,, chuckh |

Then you need to run the Indent command. By default, Ctrl+M is already assigned to that command (but you can choose another shortcut if you want to).
If you want to mimic the behavior of actually clicking the Increase Indent button, you should assign a shortcut to the IncreaseIndent command.
