I have a numbered list in which almost all the numbers appear in bold face even though I don't won't them to be. Even weirder is the 'almost' part: only the first five numbers appear in bold, not the sixth one. This happens even though I select the full list, remove the numbering property, then put it back. Thanks for what help you can provide.

Yes, that turned out to be exactly right. It was the pilcrow (a.k.a. paragraph marker) and only that, that somehow got itself bold. When I removed its boldness, the problem went away.
Thanks!
