I have a very long document that I have been working on for a couple of years and by mistake I discovered a way to help me find my way round this document when I wanted to edit it.
I clicked onto the “Change Styles” heading in the list of options that run along the top of the page the name of which slips my memory and found a large number. I then placed my curser against the heading I wanted to find later, clicked onto “Style 5” and it finished up in a column on the left of the page headed “Navigation” I then cut and posted a number of pages made up of pieces I had written over the years onto a new page but when I opened the “Change Styles” heading the number of options offered was much shorter and “Style 5” was not among them. I tried a number of ways to make the system I had on the first long document work on the second one but when I saved it, closed the document down and then opened it again the headings were not there. Can anyone offer a way to make this work? |
