Default Position not retained when changing sessions

How can I 'configure' WORD 2010 so that if I change sessions to check something when I return to the Word session the place where I previously was is retained.

Every time I am somewhere in the middle of a document and then change sessions (maybe to get some information) when I return to my document it displays it at a different point to where I originally was.

Thanks

Session usually refers to a closing of Word and a restart of Word. Is this what you are asking? Or are you asking about keeping Word open and just switching to some other application, and back again?

What I mean is when SWITCHING to another already open application and then switching back to Word. Sorry my use of the word 'sessions' was misleading.

Sory. I can not help. I can not duplicate this. When I switch to another app, then back again, I return to the last location in Word.

I think that I may have the answer and probably shouldn't hav posted this question.

I think (repeat think - need to doe some testing to verify) that what I was doing was scrolling through an existing document them switch to another app and then switch back.
Maybe I need to click on the document to force the cursor to that page before switching. Sounds logical but I need to test my theory.
