Default HELP: Unable to save word document

Got a slight issue with word. I have some documents I received from a third party supplier. I need to be able to edit them, but when I click save it doesn't save, when I try a saveas nothing happens i.e. no dialog box appears. When I try and close word it does come up with the options ("Save" "Don't Save" "Cancel"), but it doesn't save when I click save. I don't get any messages about the document being read only and when I check the file properties "Read Only" is not checked. I've checked access restrictions and there doesn't appear to be any. My own documents that I have created work fine and save without a problem.

Can't go back to the third party as that would open a whole new can of worms.

Anybody any clues?

SteveJ
