I try to create a custom page numbering as below. The idea is that a square appears on the side of each page (it is a book) and that it goes lower at the beginning of every section.
Anybody who can help me accomplish this? Thanks! |

I recall answering a similar question somewhere else recently. The simple answer is that Word has no native facility for offsetting the vertical positioning according to Section number. Although you could generate the odd/even layout as described, with textboxes holding the page numbering fields, you'd need to have each Section unlinked from the previous one and the textboxes for the new Section re-positioned.
