Not sure if this is what you are looking for but have a look at the sample document I have provided. This is achieved by having a 2 column table with the borders set as "None". Also the Heading One style is used in column 1 with white lettering on a black background. The heading one style will centre on the cell depth not the number of paragraphs. Hope this helps.
